University of National Economy Marks 80th Founding Anniversary

 Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- University of National Economy in the DPRK marked its 80th founding anniversary.
President Kim Il Sung advanced the original idea of establishing a national cadre training base in the first period of building a new country. On July 1, 1946, he founded University of National Economy and guided it to establish a unique educational system and method of our own style step by step.
Chairman Kim Jong Il took measures to bring about a qualitative improvement in the university education and developed the university into a reliable base for training cadres of the Workers' Party of Korea with a firm revolutionary outlook on the leader and solid educational and scientific forces and material and technical foundations and a pedigree center for training state economic management officials.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has energetically guided the university work, giving on tens of occasions valuable instructions on such matters as the issue of pioneering new educational systems and subjects, improving the contents and methods of education and updating the educational conditions and environment.
In the past decade alone, the university has steadily improved the educational work in conformity with the Party's intention to train a large number of state economic management officials loyal to the country and the revolution, and achieved significant successes in strengthening the people's power and accelerating socialist economic construction.
A commemorative meeting was held on June 30.
Present there were Kim Sung Du, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Tok Hun, first vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials of ministries and national agencies, and officials, teaching staff and students of the university.
