Indonesia, Turkiye agree on 2026-2027 manpower joint action plan

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia and Turkiye have strengthened cooperation on labor issues by adopting a 2026-2027 Joint Action Plan, covering labor policy, digital services, workplace safety and international cooperation. 

The agreement was reached at the first Joint Working Commission meeting, attended by Indonesian Manpower Minister Yassierli and Turkish Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan on Friday. 

“Closer cooperation between Indonesia and Turkiye will benefit both countries and help address global labor challenges by building a more inclusive, adaptive labor market focused on public welfare,” Yassierli said. 

The meeting was marked by the signing of a protocol for the first Joint Working Commission. 

The protocol will accelerate implementation of a labor cooperation memorandum signed by the two countries on Nov. 22, 2023, in Baku, Azerbaijan, Yassierli said. 

The 2026-2027 action plan covers labor-market policy, digitalization of labor services, occupational safety and health, and international cooperation projects. 

“Successful implementation will demonstrate the strength of our bilateral cooperation while improving human resources, strengthening institutions and enhancing worker welfare,” Yassierli said. 

Indonesia also expressed interest in learning from Turkiye's Model Factory to transform its vocational training centers. 

The Model Factory combines vocational training with modern consulting for small and medium-sized enterprises implementing lean-production principles. 

“We want to expand cooperation by transferring Model Factory principles and methods so our training centers can produce skilled workers while helping local SMEs operate more efficiently,” Yassierli said.
