National Flag-Hoisting Ceremony Held on New Year

 Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- The hopeful New Year 2026 has come, encouraging all the people of the DPRK to turn out in the vigorous advance towards a new great victory.
A national flag-hoisting ceremony took place at Kim Il Sung Square in the capital city of Pyongyang on January 1, 2026.
At 00:00 sharp, a bell tolled the start of the New Year and melodies of the immortal revolutionary hymns "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il" resounded in the sky over the capital city.
A worker, a peasant and an intellectual and a student courteously hoisted up the national flag amid the solemn playing of the national anthem of the DPRK.
Masses paid high tribute to the sacred national flag fluttering in the sky to display the independent dignity and indomitable spirit of our state and the rosy future of the people.
Gorgeous fireworks were set off in the nocturnal sky over the capital city, adding pleasure to the people greeting the New Year 2026. -0-
