Iran welcomes China’s call for new regional security architecture

Tehran, IRNA — Iran has welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent emphasis on strengthening common security, saying regional countries should take control of their own future and build a homegrown security architecture.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote on X on Friday that China’s focus on common security reflects a principle Iran has long championed.

“China’s emphasis on fostering common security reflects a principle Iran has long championed,” he said.

Ghalibaf added, “Regional countries must be taking their future into their own hands, and true stability can only come through a new security architecture that is homegrown. Iran stands ready.”
