Iraqi FM and his Emirati Counterpart Discuss Iraqi-Gulf Relations and Regional Developments

Baghdad /NINA/-Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed Iraqi-Gulf relations and regional developments with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' media center stated in a press release that "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call today, Sunday, from the UAE Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to further develop and strengthen joint cooperation."

The statement added that "the two sides discussed the latest security developments in the region, as well as developments in Yemen. They also discussed Iraqi-Gulf relations and emphasized the importance of strengthening and maintaining their solidity in a way that contributes to supporting regional security and stability."

The statement further noted that "Fuad Hussein reviewed the Iraqi government's policy, under the leadership of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi, regarding issues related to regional security, stressing Iraq's commitment to supporting stability and prioritizing dialogue."

According to the statement, both sides stressed the need to avoid escalation and to work towards addressing problems and resolving disputes peacefully through negotiations and dialogue, in order to enhance security and stability in the region. /End
