81st UN General Assembly Opens in New York with Participation of Iraq’s Prime Minister

BAGHDAD/NINA/ — The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly opened in New York on Tuesday, with the participation of Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, alongside leaders, heads of government and representatives of UN member states.

The session is addressing a range of major international and regional issues and challenges, as well as ways to promote security, stability and peace, in addition to economic, development and climate-related issues.

Iraq is participating in the session with an official delegation headed by the Prime Minister, who is scheduled to deliver Iraq’s address before the General Assembly.

In his speech, Al-Zaidi is expected to outline Iraq’s positions on a number of regional and international issues, as well as the government’s policies concerning economic and security affairs and Iraq’s relations with brotherly and friendly countries. /End
