MALAYSIAN PM NAJIB BEGINS SAUDI VISIT

JEDDAH, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak arrived
here Wednesday night to begin a four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, his
first to this kingdom since becoming Malaysia's prime minister last year.

He was accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor as well as several cabinet
ministers, state leaders and senior government officials.

The plane carrying Najib and his entourage touched down at Jeddah
international airport at about 10.45pm local time (3.45am Malaysian time).

On hand to welcome the Malaysian leader was the governor of Jeddah, Prince
Mishaal bin Majed.

Najib's visit to Saudi Arabia is at the invitation of the Keeper of the Two
Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The prime minister is scheduled Thursday to visit King Abdullah University
of Science and Technology and perform the umrah (minor pilgrimage).
