Iranian, Comoros presidents urge further cooperation

Tehran, June 16, (IRNA) - Comoros President Abdullah Sambi and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday stressed the need for promotion of Tehran-Moroni relations.
Speaking to reporters during a joint press conference held before an official seeing off ceremony in downtown Tehran, President Ahmadinejad voiced Tehran's readiness to share its experiences with Moroni in the fields of science, technology and planning.
Praising the Muslim nation of Comoros, President Ahmadinejad said that the South African state was rich in natural and human resources.
Comoros are located at the northern entrance of the Mozambique
Channel, between the eastern shore of the African continent and the
island of Madagascar.
Speaking to reporters, President Sambi referred to his visit to Iran as "positive" and "successful."
Two letters of understanding and one agreement were signed by Iranian
and Comoros officials on Tehran's help to Moroni in the field of
development projects.
In addition to President Ahmadinejad, the Comoros president met with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and visited the holy city of Mashhad, Khorassan Razavi province.
