CALL FOR PAKISTAN'S BUSINESSMEN TO BE IN MALAYSIAN EXHIBITIONS

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- Pakistan has called on its businessmen to
participate in a big way in upcoming exhibitions in Malaysia so as to promote
their high quality and cost-competitive products to Malaysian and overseas
buyers.

The call was made by Wajihullah Kundi, commercial counsellor for the
Pakistan High Commission here.

Among the exhibitions are the International Jewellery Fair from March 3 to
7, International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) from May 12 to 16 and the Malaysian
International Food and Beverage Trade Show from July 22 to 24.

Currently, a 10-member business delegation of Pakistan's Rawalpindi Chamber
of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) is in Malaysia from Jan 18 to 25 to foster
business ties with their Malaysian counterparts.

In a statement Thursday, Kundi said the delegation was meeting with various
business entities of Malaysia, representing sectors such as jewellery,
computers, garments, textile, food items and general consumer goods.

The objective is to establish business to business contacts and promote
bilateral trade in these sectors, he said.

The delegation also attended Society for the Advancement of Material and
Process Engineering Exhibitions (SAMPE) Asia Expo 2010 on Jan 19 and 20 for
business networking, to find new suppliers and learn about new technologies.
