Mottaki meets Comoros president
Tehran, June 17, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki discussed major bilateral relations with the visiting President of Comoros Abdullah Sambi on Sunday.
Mottaki said that promotion of bilateral ties and cooperation with
other countries, particularly the African states, was part of Iran's
strategic foreign policy.
Referring to the importance given by Iran to strengthen its relations
with Comoros, Mottaki expressed hope that previous agreements between
the two capitals would be implemented in the near future.
Meanwhile, the Comoros president voiced Moroni's readiness to expand
mutual cooperation in all fields with Tehran.
President Sambi was officially welcomed by his Iranian counterpart
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran on Sunday.
He has so far, discussed major issues of mutual interest with the
Iranian president and foreign minister.
A group of Comoros ministers as well as the countries senior officials
are also accompanying President Sambi in his visit to Iran.End
