“The people of the Mekong River have many things in common but they have their ancient and rich culture of their own. One aspect of their culture is dance, which was very rich and diverse as well,” said Mr. Somsanouk.
The first international Dance festival has choreographers and dancers from Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and France who have come to join their Lao colleagues, to exchange experience and perform their art which has no frontier as the language of dance is universal, he said.
This festival is an opportunity for Lao artists to show their talent and also to learn from colleagues from other countries.
It is a unique laboratory where traditional, contemporary and hip hop dance will be mixed and combined according to the inspiration and soul of choreographers and dancers.
