MALAYSIAN KING TO UNDERGO ADVANCED PHYSIOTHERAPY IN GERMANY
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian King, Tuanku Mizan
Zainal Abidin, is scheduled to leave for Munich Monday night to undergo
advanced physiotherapy after having undergone knee surgery on Nov 30, said a
statement issued Sunday by the National Palace.
Tuanku Mizan will undergo the health care at Medical Park, St Hubertus, Bad
Wiessee, under the supervision of a group of medical specialists of the centre
led by Prof Andreas B. Imhoff, the statement said.
It said Tuanku Mizan was expected to undergo the health care for 21 days at
the centre.
The statement said Tuanku Mizan would be accompanied on the visit to Germany
by the Queen, Tuanku Nur Zahirah, and their children, a medical
specialist from Putrajaya Hospital, two orthopaedic specialists from Selayang
Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital and a sports medicine specialist.
Tuanku Mizan hopes that the people would pray for his speedy recovery so
that he can resume his duties soon, the statement said.
It also said that during Tuanku Mizan's period of physiotherapy, Deputy King
Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, who is the Sultan of Kedah, would carry out
the official duties of the King.
On Nov 30, Tuanku Mizan underwent the knee surgery at Klinikum rechts der
Isar, Technischen Universitat Munchen, in Munich.
