Laos, Japan enhance human resources development co-operation

(KPL) - The National University of Laos and the Lao-Japanese Co-operation Centre for Human Resources Development have signed here a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on assessing their co-operation of a five-year human resource project.

Signatories to the last week's signing ceremony were Vice Rector of the National University of Laos, Dr Saikhong Sainasin, and President of the Lao-Japan Centre for Human Resource Development, Hiro Akitakashima, among the witness of relevant officials of both sides.

The main objectives of the project, which has been designed for 2005-2010 period, is aimed to develop human resources of Laos in line with the socio-economic development plan of the Lao government, and promote information exchange on culture between both countries.

On the occasion, a meeting to assess the implementation of the bilateral
co-operation between the university and the centre on upgrading the
education on business administration and computing of the National
University of Laos and cultural exchange was also held.
