Lao leader pays condolences to Vietnam
(KPL) - Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavnah on behalf of the Lao government on Monday signed a condolence book at the Vietnam Embassy to Laos to express profound sadness on the passing of former Vietnamese Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, who died last Wednesday.
In his message PM Bouasone referred to the leadership role played by Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, who made great sacrifices for the development of
Vietnam. Mr. Vo Van Kiet also helped to strengthen the friendly relations,
special solidarity and comprehensive co-operation between Laos and Vietnam
The message read: " On behalf of the government and people of the Lao PDR, I
express my deepest sorrow to the government and people of Vietnam on the
passing of former Vietnamese Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.'
Mr. Bouasone said with the passing of Mr. Vo Van Kiet, not only had the
people of Vietnam lost a respected leader but the Lao people had also lost a
close friend.
" We share sorrow and sympathy with the Party, government and people of
Vietnam, especially the family, relatives and friends of Mr. Vo Van Kiet on
this occasion," said message.
