MALAYSIA, MOROCCO NOW PARTNERS IN CYBER SECURITY

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- CyberSecurity Malaysia has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Morocco's Department of Post,
Telecommunications and New Technologies to establish a cooperative relationship.

Signed on Jan 21 in conjunction with the Regional Cybersecurity Conference
at the University Al Akhawayn, Ifrane, Morocco, the MoU covers areas of critical
information infrastructure protection, cyber security frameworks development,
capacity building, training and awareness.

Among the initiatives and activities to be implemented under the MoU were
cyber security projects supported by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB),
CyberSecurity Malaysia said in a statement Thursday.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was represented by Chairman Mohd
Azumi Mohamed at the signing ceremony while the Moroccon party by Industry,
Trade and New Technology Ministry Secretary-General Dr Taieb Debbagh.

"It is expected that both organisations will benefit from the MoU.

"We hope that new economic opportunities will be created for both countries.
It is our hope that the industry players will benefit from this initiative as
well," Azumi said in the statement.

He said IDB was very receptive on this collaboration.

CyberSecurity Malaysia is the national cyber security specialist centre
under the purview of the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and
currently the Chair of OIC-CERT (Organization of Islamic Conference - Computer
Emergency Response Team).
