PREMIER MEETS RED CROSS SOCIETY'S OFFICIALSc
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Premier S.Batbold received Friday L.Odonchimed, president of Mongolia's Red Cross Society (MRCS) and some officials.
The MRCS president said he got au fait with the overwintering in regions together with the MRCS's middle and small committees, and gave warm clothes of MNT 60 million to aimags suffering most.
Some examiners from the International Red Cross Society (IRCS) have worked in aimags. The IRCS has decided to render aid of CHF 400 thousand to these aimags. According to L.Odonchimed, the MRCS decided to distribute relief goods to some 1,500 families in five aimags by the money from the IRCS. One package of relief goods includes clothes, flour, rice and others.
The MRCS's side explained to the Premier its draft amendment to the law on Red Cross Society. The amendment comprises clauses such as providing the MRCS's staffers with state financing, not imposing customs tax on relief products and goods coming from foreign countries in lines of the IRCS.
The Premier thanked the MRCS for taking measures dedicated to herdsmen, and said the government will pay an attention to the request about amending the law on Red Cross Society.
