TBILISI HOSTS 8TH MEETING OF COORDINATING COUNCIL FOR BAKU-TBILISI-KARS RAILWAY PROJECT
Tbilisi, January 30 (AzerTAc). The 8th meeting of Coordinating Council for Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Project took place today here.
Azerbaijan`s delegation at the event was led by Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov who said the project had been launched thanks to political will of President Ilham Aliyev.
He described the project “serving stability and economic development in the region.”
Mammadov noted friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan contribute to realizing the project successfully.
Georgian Economic Development Minister Zurab Pololikashvili said the global financial crisis does not affect realization of the project. He added the railway would be put into operation on schedule.
The meeting was culminated in signing of protocol.
