JETSTAR MARKS INAUGURAL FLIGHT TO SHANTOU WITH ONBOARD WEDDING

SINGAPORE, Feb 2 (Bernama) -- A Singaporean couple, both intrepid
travellers, marked the low-fare carrier Jetstar's inaugural flight from here to
Shantou, China, Tuesday by tying their nuptial knots on board the aircraft.

Rachel Chan and Alvin Lim exchanged their marriage vows in the presence of a
Justice of Peace on board flight 3K 823 in front of family members and
passengers.

Shantou is Jetstar Asia's 20th destination and second to mainland China
after it began the four times weekly direct Singapore-Haikou flights in the
Hainan Province from Dec 16 last year.

Jetstar Asia is the first foreign carrier to operate international flights
into Shantou Waisha Airport in China's Guangdong Province.

Jetstar will fly the new route three times weekly between Shantou Waisha
Airport and Singapore's Changi Airport.
