U.S. AMBASSADOR TO WATCH DZUD SITUATION
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The USA Ambassador to Mongolia Jonathan S.Addleton is going to tour countryside next week to get au fait with situation of zud--a continuous heavy snowfall combined with extreme cold.
Deputy Premier M.Enkhbold met Thursday with Addleton and briefed about current overwintering and actions taken by the government and the State Emergency Commission.
The Ambassador expressed Mongolia's Government an appreciation for its actions taken for overcoming the winter difficulties with less damage.
"Recently, parliament adopted a bill on ratification of amendments to the Millennium Challenge Compact," Mr Enkhbold said. He noted that projects and programs of "Health", "Vocational education" and "Suburb pasture management", "Road" and "Clean Air" under funding of the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation will be realized successfully.
