Iranian MPs urge vigilance toward proposed nuclear fuel swap deal

TEHRAN, Feb. 7 (MNA) – Over 150 Iranian lawmakers issued a statement on Sunday calling on the administration to show vigilance in the face a proposed deal to exchange the country’s stockpile of low enriched uranium with 20 percent enriched nuclear fuel for the Tehran nuclear research reactor.
The statement said that the Majlis has so far passed three legislations with regard to the country’s nuclear energy program, showing how important the issue is.
All officials should be vigilant about the hidden plots behind the Western proposed deal by following the guidelines of the Supreme Leader, said part of the statement which was recited in the parliament.
It also said the country has emerged victorious each time in different tests recently.
The statement also said that after the June 12 presidential election certain people insisted on their positions and caused conflicts but the Iranian nation will not accept any leniency toward these people.
