PREMIER GIVES INTERVIEW TO REUTERS
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister S.Batbold gave Monday an interview to the Reuters agency. The Reuters reporter asked him about the first forum of Mongolia's economics and issues of foreign investments, financial market, Mongolia's Armed Forces who takes part in peacekeeping and restoration operations and overwintering.
The Prime Minister underlined that representatives of all spheres such as state servants, scholars, researchers, businessmen and members of civil society are openly discussing at the economic forum the national development issues.
"The law on mineral resources adopted in 1997 was severely criticized for being friutful for foreigners and violating interests of the Mongolians. For this reason the forum intends to create an open, comprehensible and fair environment that balances interests," Batbold said. Mentioning about starting to grant benefits of the mining sector to Mongolians through the Human Development Fund (HDF) in a form of cash money, the Premier underlined that the forum is discussing other ways of tackling economic and social problems of people.
"Foreigners have earned USD 20 billion from mineral resources of Mongolia. We must independently make money by penetrating the global market of capital and finance. We are very confident that Mongolians will gain success in a short time receiving technical assistance and advice from foreign countries. It is of importance to accumulate real capital after determining its resources," stressed Batbold.
