Party of Regions not to form coalition with BYUT in parl'
.
KIEV, February 9 (Itar-Tass) - The Party of Regions, headed by Viktor
Yanukovich, and the Bloc of Yulia Timoshenko (BYUT) will not unite into a
coalition in the present parliament of Ukraine, Member of Parliament
Nestor Shufrich said in a live broadcast of the ICTV channel on Tuesday.
"Unfortunately, I can hardly imagine a possibility of the Party of
Regions and BYUT uniting (into a coalition). After a regular parliamentary
election, this issue will, possibly, become important. However, this is
unlikely to happen in the present parliament". He also expressed an
opinion that there would be no early parliamentary elections.
Commenting on the question of who may become a Premier in the event
the Verkhovna Rada coalition is reformatted, Shufrich said, "I do not
imagine any other candidacy for premiership in a future coalition than
that of a representative of the Party of Regions".
Earlier, Yanukovich said that talks on the creation of a new
parliamentary coalition would begin on February 9.

of 2009 and tasks aimed at promoting a further development of the sector
are to be discussed at an international conference here.
Russian communications operators are to share their experience in
working under the conditions of economic downturn and present their
innovative recommendations in the field of the transaction of business.

.Railwaymen of Baltics, RF to discuss sector problems.
TALLINN, February 9 (Itar-Tass) - The railwaymen of the Baltics and

of the sector in the light of the world financial and economic downturn.
This will be the subject of discussion at an international sectoral
business forum on the theme of "Strategic Partnership 1,520: Baltic
Region". The forum opens here on Tuesday.
An organizing committee official has said, "The Baltics (the area
comprising Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) is a kind of outpost of
railways with a gauge of 1,520 mm, which brings together all the countries
in the post-Soviet space, as well as a number of countries both in Europe
and Asia".
Businessmen, industry officials, and politicians have been invited to
have a dialogue about urgent problems. They are not only to share their
vision of the situation but also seek jointly to work out possible
versions of resolving this or that problem.
A further development of relations between Russian railwaymen and
their Baltic colleagues will be also a quite important aspect of
discussions. Vladimir Yakunin, president of the Russian Railways Company,

at home in Tallinn".
