Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has received authority of XAAN bank.
The visitors--executive director P.Morrow, vice director D.Batsaikhan, advisor K.Norikhiko--spoke about present time situation and the actions they have taken in dealing with the worsening overwintering in regions. As of the first of January, 2010, some 37 percent out of all herdsmen, or 64.6 thousand people, took loans from the bank, 95 percent of whom are making repayment. One herdsman has a 970 thousand togrog loan in average, they said.
They added that a so-called prompt loan for preparing fodder, with a low interest, is being given to herdsmen. Besides, the bank's demands have been softened for those who lost a livestock. Last year, the bank gave non-refundble aid to herdsmen, even implemented a project to provide them with livestock, ran consultations to give recommendations on actions during worsening weather. "In general, we give a priority to our herdsmen with whom we have been cooperating for ten years," said the visitors.
The President underlined that it is important to prolong the repayment term for herdsmen and to make loan requirements more flexible. He advised the bank to cooperate with related institutions in drilling the livestock insurance system.
