EXTERNAL TRADE

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ For the first month of 2010, Mongolia traded with 70 countries from all over the world and total external trade turnover reached 295.5 mln.US dollars, of which export made up 163.5 mln.US dollars and import did 132.0 mln.US dollars.
The total external trade balance turned a surplus of 31.5 mln.US dollars. The surplus decreased 19.4 mln.US dollars, or 38.1 percent compared with the same period of the previous year.
Compared with the same period of the previous year, total external trade turnover increased by 5.6 mln.US dollars, or 1.9 percent, of which import by 12.5 mln.US dollars, or 10.4 percent, but export decreased by 6.9 mln.US dollars, or 4.0 percent. .
Compared with the same period of the previous year, the total export fell due to declines of 90.5 percent in volume and 89.3 percent in value of gold, in unwrought or semi-manufactured forms.
