Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology says that maximum precipitation was (26.9 mm) in Bulgan soum of Khovd aimag. The absolute high air temperature reached + 9.4°C in Dalanzadgad soum of Umnugovi aimag, whereas absolute low air temperature was - 47.0°C in Eroo soum of Selenge aimag and in Tes soum of Zavkhan aimag. The highest cover of snow was 77 cm in Bayankhairkhan soum of Zavkhan aimag. The maximum wind speed reached 40 m/sec in Bugat soum of Gobi-Altai aimag in January 2010.
The air temperature in cities and in UB lowered from 0.1oC to 4.7oC except Ulgii and Khovd cities compared with multi-year mean air temperature, in January 2010.
The concentration of sulphur dioxide exceeded the maximum allowable concentration of air quality standards 27 times around the Khan-Uul district, 22 times around the 1st micro district, 30 times around the 13th micro district, 21 times around the 32nd Toirog, and 28 times around the Offitseruudiin ordon.
The nitrogen dioxide exceeded twice around the Khan-Uul district, 6 times around the west crossroad, 18 times around the 1st micro district, 22 times around the 13th micro district, 16 times around the 32nd Toirog and 11 times around the Officers' palace, the particulate matter less than ten micrograms exceeded 4 times around the Khan-uul district, 29 times around the 1st micro district, 30 times around the 13th micro district in Ulaanbaatar in January 2010. Particulate matter less than ten micrograms exceeded 19 times in Darkhan soum of Darkhan-Uul aimag.
