EMPLOYMENT IN FIGURES

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As of the end of January 2010, the number of registered unemployed in labor and welfare service divisions of provinces and the capital city reached 36.3 thous increasing 4,936 persons or 15.7 per cent against the same period of the previous year.
According to the National Statistics Commission, 19.8 thousand women have been registered as unemployed that constitute 54.5 per cent of total registered unemployed.
As the end of January 2010, 1.5 thousand registered unemployed found jobs, 20.5 per cent out of them have found work in government or state-owned enterprises, remaining 79.5 percent--in companies, cooperatives or other types of employers, such as small-scale private businesses.
