The Lebanese envoy heading a delegation conferred with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday afternoon on issues of mutual interests as well as regional developments.

According to Information and Press Bureau of the Majlis, at the

juncture in the region."

Larijani also expressed regret over the efforts of western countries
and the US in particular who try to sow seeds of discord in order to
further aggravate the current situation in Lebanon.

Iran fully backs resistance and unity of Lebanese nation, he said
adding that the Iranian Majlis, as other institutions in the country, backs unity among independent forces in Lebanon fighting to restore stability in the country.

The Lebanese envoy, for his part, expressed satisfaction over
resolving the current problems in Lebanon in recent days and said
there is no doubt that the Americans are not pleased with the
agreements reached among Lebanese groups and are trying to create
obstacles to continue sedition.

Subsequent victories of Lebanese people have roots in their unity, he said adding, "We believe that Imam Musa Sadr laid the foundation of these victories."

In conclusion, the Lebanese envoy thanked Iran for the spiritual
support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the unity and resistance
of the Lebanese people.
