Vietnam envoy: Hanoi supports Iran's peaceful nuclear program

Tehran, June 23 (IRNA) - Vietnam's Ambassador to Tehran Anguyen Van Hy on Sunday announced that his country supports Iran's peaceful use of nuclear energy.

"Vietnam's government supports nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
We are against production of nuclear weapons," the diplomat told
reporters in Abbasabad District in the city of Behshahr, north of Iran.

He said, "Though the US is double sensitive towards Iranian nation's
using nuclear energy, Vietnam's government believes peaceful nuclear
energy can have favorable applications for all."
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Vietnamese envoy put Iran-Vietnam annual commercial transactions at more than one hundred million dollars.

The Vietnamese ambassador along with ambassadors and heads of
diplomatic missions of 40 countries that are visiting northern Iranian province of Mazandaran to inspect the incomplete Alborz Dam as well as Shahid Rajaie Dam and the historical sites in the hill of Gohar Tappeh.
