Namsan III hydropower pda signed
(KPL) Lao and Malaysia have signed a project development agreement (PDA) on Namsan III Hydropower project in Moke district, Xiengkhuang province.
Signatories to the agreement were Deputy Minister of Energy and Mining Mr.
Thongmy Phomvisay, Head of Energy and Mining Depvelopment and Promotion
Department Mr. Saypaseuth Phomsoupha and Director General of Rohas-Euco
Industries of Maysia George Sia Bun. Witnesses to the ceremony were relevant
officials of both sides.
According to the agreement the project development takes 18 months before
both sides are able to further other phases of the investment project.
The government holds 25 per cent of investment shares and the rest belongs
to the foreign company.
It is expected that the 30-year project will be implemented on
build-operate-transfer basis. Some 300-350 kw is believed to be generated
from the investment project and all the generated power will be sold to the
Electricite du Lao.
