TEAM TO REFER FORMULATION OF DRAFT REPORT TO EXPERTS
Jakarta, Feb 20 (ANTARA) - The small team set up by the House committee investigating the Bank Century case has agreed to refer the formulation of the committee's report to a team of experts.
Committee deputy chairman Mahfud Sidiq said here on Saturday the small team had agreed to refer the formulation of five of the six chapters of the report to the experts.
"Only the sixth chapter containing conclusions and recommendations will be handled by the committee members," he said after leading a meeting of the small team.
The team in the meeting had received the draft report of the conclusions from chapters one to four. The team of experts are still finishing the fifth chapter containing party factions' views and analyses.
In view of the contents of the first to fourth chapters of the draft report several committee members expressed hopes that conclusions could be formulated quickly and efficiently.
Agun Gunanjar from Golkar Party faction suggested that the team of experts would put the facts as they are in the draft conclusion without any interpretation so that they would not be biased.
Members of the small team will give their response towards the facts in a meeting on Monday.
"It must be differentiated which facts that have become common conclusions and which have not. If they are considered strong enough they should be brought to the plenary," he said.
Benny K Harman from the Democrat Party meanwhile said because of time constraints the committee had asked experts to formulate the final draft report.
"Let us trust the team that followed the committee's meetings from day to day and therefore knew well the facts that developed in the meetings as well as the spirit of the committee members," he said.
Based on the schedule already agreed the committee would hear viems from party factions at an internal meeting on Monday.***
