BALI TO GO "CLEAN AND GREEN"
Denpasar, Bali, Feb 21 (ANTARA) - The Bali provincial government has pledged to conserve its rivers, lakes, and other water resources for achieving the objectives of the "Bali Goes Clean and Green" campaign.
For that purpose, a budget of Rp115.9 billion would be allocated for the infrastructure, environmental preservation, and area management programs, the provincial administration's spokesman Ketut Teneng said.
Speaking here Sunday, Ketut Teneng said the Bali administration money will also be used to develop and manage the irrigation and water supply networks in the resort island.
"We hope the province's environment will remain well preserved and the 'Bali Goes Clean and Green' objectives can be achieved," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the province's environment office AA Gede Alit Sastrawan said the injection well pilot projects were being carried out in a number of regencies and towns to preserve rain water.
Under the project, replanting-tree programs could sustainably be carried out all over the province, he said.
Sastrawan said Balinese families were expected to build the same injection wells.
