.Russian bobsleigh bronze medal surprises German rivals.

WHISTLER, February 22 (Itar-Tass) -- "Our bronze medal surprised our
rivals, who realized that it is difficult to compete with us," Russian
bobsledder Alexander Zubkov told Itar-Tass. Bobsledders Alexander Zubkov
and Alexei Voevoda won bronze in the two-man event at the Vancouver
Olympics.
"The work was done perfectly. We were facing the task to speed up
well, drive quickly first two heats so that in the final heats to run for
medals. We did it and the rivals realized that currently it is very
difficult to compete with us. Unfortunately, it is practically impossible
to drive quicker and win a higher medal. The bobsleigh in Germany is the
sport number one, and big money is invested in it, the Germans have very
good, speedy vehicles, and whole plants are working for their teams. Our
current medal astonished German athletes, who understood that we can
compete with them," Zubkov said.
