GOVT TO ISSUE SAMURAI BONDS LATE APRIL

Jakarta, Feb 22 (ANTARA) - The government plans to issue Samurai bonds worth US$1.1 billion in the Japanese market at the end of April 2010, a Finance Ministry official said.

"The maximum value of the bonds to be issued is equivalent to US$1.1 billion but it will depend on the market that can change any time," the ministry's director general of debt management, Rahmat Waluyanto, said at a discussion on the 2010 state budget here on Monday.

Acting as the bond issue underwriter would be the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), he said.

The bonds were part of the global bonds the government would issue to finance part of the financing target in the 2010 state budget, he said.
