EDL, Schneider Thailand cooperate in energy management

VIETIANE,FEB 23 (KPL) - The Electricite du Laos (EDL) and Schneider Electric Thailand Ltd announced the signing of an agreement yesterday in Vientiane to cooperate in establishing world-class standards in electrical installation and energy management in Laos.
On the occasion, the group has also handed over 70 Schneider Electrical installation wiring boards to the EDL for its branches and sub-branches to install across Laos and expected to give a boost to the EDL capability in Electrical Installation.
Country President of Thailand-Laos, Schneider Electric Thailand Ltd Mr Manish Pant said, “As energy efficiency and management take centre stage in these times, the main purpose of this cooperation between Schneider Electric Thailand Ltd and the EDL is to promote and support the energy management potential of the Lao PDR as well as to allow Laos to achieve maximum energy efficiency and sustainability.”
The next step, Schneider Electric experts will train EDL electricians to upgrade their knowledge and skills such as enabling them not only to know the appropriate method of electrical system installation but to be able to select and use high quality products and even to develop energy efficient installation solutions.
Mr Pant concluded that, “at the outset, the target of this training is to transfer knowledge and best practices. We wish to help Lao electricians to use electricity with maximum safety and efficiency as it’s the foundation for long-term energy management strategy and sustainability in Laos.”
Through this cooperation project, Schneider Electric Thailand Ltd will send the group’s experts to the EDL for training to EDL Operation Team and the EDL’s also will be invited for training at the Bangkok-French Innovation institute (a joint training centre with Schneider Electric Thailand Ltd) in Bangkok, Thailand, then the team will visit the Schneider Electric factory at Bangpoo Industrial Estate.
