Furniture exhibition to stage in May
VIENTIANE ,FEB 24 (KPL) - The Vientiane Industry and Commerce Service will organise a furniture and household utensils exhibition on 5-9 May at the Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre (Lao-ITECC) to promote goods production in the Lao PDR.
According to a press conference co-held on Wednesday by the Vientiane Industry and Commerce Service and the Lao Furniture Industry Association.
The exhibition is part of the celebration of the 450th anniversary of Vientiane proclamation as the national capital, the International Children’s Day and the National Arbour Day (June 1), said director of the Vientiane Industry and Commerce Service, Mr. Beulin Phetchanthalath. “It is also aimed to promote forest conservation and efficient production of furniture and wood products, promote carpentry skills and furniture and wood product trading.”
“During the exhibition, we will hold a training course on wood processing and production for export on 6 May and the best furniture contest on the following day,” said Mr. Beulin.
Goods and products on display and for sales at the exhibition are made of wood, rattan and bamboo. The exhibition will also feature finished goods and handicraft items as well as tree saplings and household utensils.
