POLICY DIALOGUE ORGANIZED


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Millennium Challenge Account - Mongolia (MCA-M) Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Project organized a “Government Policy on Technical and Vocational Education and Training” Policy Dialogue in Kempinski Khaan Palace hotel conference hall February 23, 2010.
The policy dialogue was organized in collaboration with the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) involving some 70 representatives-organizations such as parliament of Mongolia; Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science; Ministry of Education, Culture and Science; Ministry of Social Welfare and Labor; Ministry of Roads, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, as well as donor organizations, NGOs, private sector and TVET institutions.
This became an important event that has drawn the attention of many policy makers. During the dialogue participants discussed the Government's current policies and measures taken in TVET sector, and exchanged views on how to ensure the coordination of government policies with the activities of donor organizations and private sector. Focus was given to mining sector by discussing specific ideas and proposals on how to foster Public Private Partnership in this field.
The outcome of this policy dialogue was appreciated as successful policy level coordination of TVET activities in public and private sector as well as achievement of common understanding on the requirements of a demand driven TVET system.
