Laos-China cooperation on Foreign Affairs expanded

(KPL) The Foreign Affairs Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos and the Foreign Affairs University of China, has signed in Vientiane on 23 June a co-operation agreement.

The agreement was signed between Mrs Malayvieng Sakonninhom, Acting Director
General of the Foreign Affairs Institute and Professor Heng Xiao Jun, Vice
Rector of Foreign Affairs University of China.
This was a part of activities of the Chinese delegation during their visit
to Laos from 21-23 June.

During the visit, the bilateral meeting to enhance the relation of
friendship and co-operation between the Chinese delegation and Lao foreign
affairs institute delegation was also held on 21 June.
According to the agreement, the two countries will carry out exchange visits
by leaders and scholars who will undertake short-term and long term
lecturing position. They will initiate a short term exchange programme for
young diplomats to study language and other professional course.

The agreement will be valid for five years and will be automatically renewed
for another five years unless either country wants to modify or terminate
the agreement.
