MINISTRY AND CIVIL COUNCIL TO COOPERATE
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Ministry of Environment and the Civil Council of Environment (CCE) plan to realize 34 works together this year. A cooperation contract of the year 2010 has been signed between the organizations by D.Byambaa, a head of the Public Administration and Management Department of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism; D.Enebish, a Ministry's expert; and by members of the CCE's Board of Directors B.Batbold, N.Badamkhand and S.Javzmaa.
The main aim of the deal is to develop a close cooperation between the Ministry and the Council. The latter represents civil society organizations. In frames of the previous year's cooperation contract, the Ministry of Environment had some NGOs performed of works focused on environment protection, and granted them MNT 83.7 million top finance activities. This year, the money size increased twice.
To enhance the participation of civil society organizations in decision-making level, the Council of the Environmental Minister has allowed representatives to enter the composition of the Environmental Monitoring Committee.
The two sides intend to organize the second state consultation of NGOs under auspices of the Environmental Ministry and to bring the further collaboration between the Ministry and civil society organizations into newer level.
