HOME-MADE BOMB FOUND AT CIREBON MOSQUE

Cirebon, W Java, Feb 27 (ANTARA) - Mosque guardians found a home-made bomb planted at Sang Cipta Rasa Mosque in the Kesepuhan palace compound here on Saturday.

The bomb wrapped in a plastic bag consisted of gasoline, 50 thumb-sized firecrackers, shards and a timer, chief of the Cirebon city police Adjunct Chief Commissioner Ari Laksamana Widjaya said.

The police were still looking into the case and could not yet establish whether the bomb had something to do with the bomb threat sent by short message service some time ago, he said.

He said the bomb was found by the mosque guardians, Rahmat and Hasan, at 06.30 a.m. on Saturday.

By Saturday afternoon a bomb disposal squad of the West Java provincial police was still combing the scene.
