MILD QUAKE HITS MALUKU

Bandarlampung, Feb 28 (ANTARA) - A mild earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Saumlaki, Maluku province, here on Sunday at 10.58 west Indonesian standard time (WIB).

According to information from the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the temblor had its epicenter at 7.48 degrees southern longitude and 129.02 degrees eastern latitude at a depth of 80 kilometers.

The earthquake did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami wave. (A051/c/a014)
