MONGOLIA-UK RELATIONS DEBATED AT BRITISH PARLIAMENT


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ A debate on UK-Mongolia relations was held in House of Commons of the UK February 24. At the event, a Head of the UK-Mongolia parliament group Mr John Grogan gave detailed information on UK and Mongolia relations.
The debate touched upon comprehensive issues such as UK and Mongolia relations, history of Mongolia, communism development, Stalin's purges and the oppression of Buddhism, democratic revolution, democracy development, 2008 parliament elections, riots of July the first of 2008 after election, mining, historic agreement with Rio Tinto for the Oyu Tolgoi mine, severe winter, Mongolian President's recent brave decision to abolish the death penalty, tourism, sport, education and many other issues.
