MONGOLIAN WINS VOA'S SPECIAL ENGLISH CONTEST

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Volunteer for an association Doctor Baigal Tumur-Ochir from Khovsgol province has been selected as the first winner of Voice of America's (VOA) Special English Contest. Announced world-wide in December 2009, the topic was “What is your opinion about VOA and what programs do you want to listen to in the future?", the U.S Embassy in Ulaanbaatar has reported.
Dr. Baigal has tuned in to the Special English Program on Voice of America everyday for the past year and credits it for the vast improvement in her English comprehension. She cites the health report as her favorite program.
Dr. Baigal moved to Ulaanbaatar five years ago and works as a volunteer for the Association of "Disabled Children's Parents". The Special English Program, a practical listening tool for English language training, broadcasts every day on FM 106.6 from 07:00-09:00 and 23:00-01:00.
