WE WANT YOU TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MONGOLIA

(continuation)
When the home is up, the female head of the household serves everyone with milky tea and food.
For Mongolians, the ger is not only the centre of the universe, but also a microcosm within it. It is actually seen as a map of the universe, with the vault of the heavens reflected in the arched shape of the roof.
The entrance usually faces south. The north inner (hoimor), behind the fire, is the position of greatest honor, where sacred objects, ongon (spirit dwellings) and other religious images are placed on a table.
