RI'S EXCISE RECEIPTS REACH RP11.29 TRILLION
Jakarta, March 1 (ANTARA) - Indonesia's excise receipts in the year ended on February 23 reached Rp11.29 trillion accounting for 19.71 percent of the target set in the 2010 state budget.
The government had set the target of excise receipts for 2010 at Rp57.29 trillion, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Finance Ministry said in an online report on Monday.
Import duty receipts meanwhile reached Rp2.36 trillion, representing 14.25 percent of the target of Rp16.57 trillion for 2010.
Export tax receipts stood at Rp312.04 billion or 4.09 percent of the target of Rp7.63 trillion for this year.
The excise receipts represented almost a two-fold increase from the month before when the figure was Rp5.23 trillion or 9.13 percent of the target.
"The excise receipts are high although overall customs and excise receipts are low because we are still at the start of this year," Director General of Customs and Excise Thomas Sugijata said.
In January 2010 import duty receipts reached Rp1.15 trillion or 6.97 percent of the target for 2010 and export tax receipts Rp146.8 billion or 1.92 percent of the target for this year.
Thomas said the January 2010 excise receipts were relatively high compared to January 2009 when the figure was Rp4.07 trillion.
