Beauty queens to promote cultural exchange
Hanoi, June 27 (VNA) - Eighty contestants of the Miss Universe World Contest 2008 will attend an "Ambassadors' Gala Dinner" in Hanoi on June 26 to promote cultural exchanges between Vietnam and the rest of the world.
Ambassadors from the countries being represented at Miss Universe 2008 will also be present at the gala dinner, which is jointly held by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In Hanoi the beauties will be received by the country's leaders. They then will go to Ha Long Bay for a look at Vietnam 's most well-known landscape.
Just one day before, the beauties went on a parade in Hoi An on pedicabs flying their national flags and symbols and led by last year's Miss Universe, Japan 's Riyo Mori. They also had the opportunity to relax and take in the town's centuries-old atmosphere at a musical performance.
