Arab foreign ministers back UAE right to islands, condemn Mabhouh's murder
Cairo - March 4, 2010 (WAM)- The Arab League council threw yesterday its weight behind the UAE's sovereignty over its three islands Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa and its peaceful measures and means to restore its occupied islands. In a statement issued at the end of its 133rd meeting here today, the council denounced Iran's continued occupation of the islands and breaching of the UAE's sovereignty in a way that threatens security and stability in the region as well as international security and peace. The council also condemned Iran for building housing facilities on the UAE islands, conducting military manoeuvres on the islands and their territorial waters, air space and continental shelf and economic zone of the islands which are considered part and parcel of the UAE territory.
