AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT`s ADMINISTRATION CONDEMNS US CONGRESS` DECISION

Baku, March 5 (AzerTAc). The Administration of the Azerbaijani President has strongly condemned a March 4 resolution of the US Congress` Foreign Affairs Committee on the fabricated “Armenian genocide”.
Ali Hasanov, head of the Presidential Administration’s department for social and political affairs, told journalists US congressmen` decision was “really wrong and unjust”.
Hasanov said: “Events which occurred in 1915 in one of the fronts during the WWI saw all nations and states involved suffer losses to a certain degree. It is up to independent historians and researchers, and not the congress of a country aspiring to be a world power, to evaluate losses of the countries involved in those events.”
“The Government of Azerbaijan unambiguously condemns the decision of US congressmen, and regards it biased, unjust, pro-Armenian and anti-Turkish. We think that this decision does not conform to the interests of the United States and its people, and that it will seriously damage the country`s international image.”
Hasanov also expressed belief “the committee`s decision would receive its due evaluation at the US House of Representatives and be sent back, relieving the US Government of this unjust responsibility”.
