OMBUDSMAN OF AZERBAIJAN RE-ELECTED
Baku, March 5 (AzerTAc). At the today`s session of Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Azerbaijan Republic Elmira Suleymanova has been reelected as the human rights commissioner of Azerbaijan.
Chairperson of the Parliament`s human rights standing committee Rabiyyat Aslanova informed that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, under the Article 109.14 of the Constitution, had sent to the Parliament the list of the candidates to be elected as the Ombudsman of republic.
Of the three candidates, Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, chief of the Justice Ministry`s human rights department Faig Gurbanov and UNCHR representative in Azerbaijan Teymur Melik-Aslanov, after secret vote, Elmira Suleymanova was reelected to this position.
