ABURIZAL WARNS AGAINST POLITICAL INTERVENTION IN JUDICIAL CENTURY PROBE

Jakarta, March 5 (ANTARA) - Golkar Party Chairman Aburizal Bakrie said, after the Bank Century case has been referred to the legal domain, there should be no political intervention in the relevant investigations.

"I think the Century Bank case is now entering the legal domain. The legal process to settle the case must run well without political intervention," he said ahead of a parliamentary recess here on Friday.

He said the process must run based on legal principles such as presumption of innocence, transparency, fairness and others.

The process of investigation by the House inquiry committee had taken a long time but would be useful for the nation.

"The government must be quick in making a decision especially in dealing with a crisis and therefore improvements must be made," he said.

The protocol for dealing with a crisis must be made ready, he said.

"The President last night in his speech called on us to think and strive to make the life of the Indonesian people better. We welcomed it with open arms," he said.
