W SUMATRA'S NON-OIL/GAS EXPORTS IN JANUARY UP 9 PCT

Padang, W Sumatra, Mar 5 (ANTARA) - West Sumatra's non-oil/gas exports in January 2010 reached 124,617.3 thousand US dollars, up 9.14 percent from a month earlier.

"The performance is a 9.14 percent increase compared to the non-oil/gas exports in December 2009 which reached only 114,17.4 thousand dollars," Head of the West Sumatra Central Bureau of Statistics Muchsin Ayub said here Friday.

He said that the value of the January 2010 non-oil/gas exports also increased by 50.37 percent compared to that in the same period of 2009, reaching 82,871.3 thousand dollars.

The January 2010 non-oil/gas exports comprised different commodities and the highest value was contributed by rubber and rubber goods 61,107.5 thousand dollars.

Second biggest were fats and animal/vegetable fats with 49,105.0 thousand dollars.
